Tokyo, 2002. Tucked between a cracked sidewalk and the hum of an old vending machine sits a small coffee stand. Your stand.

This isn't a corporate chain with neon signage covering the whole wall. It's the kind of modest street stall that used to be everywhere in Japanese cities back then — a rusting vending machine, an espresso maker you had to know by heart, and customers who came not just for coffee, but for a small moment of calm in a busy day.

路地裏カフェ (Corner Street Café) is a slow-paced simulation game where you run a small street café in Japan at the turn of the millennium. No frantic corporate restaurant-sim chaos here — this is about rhythm. A customer arrives, tells you what they want, you brew or grab something from the vending machine, hand it over, and count your earnings at the end of the day.

What's in the game:

A real coffee-brewing ritual — over a dozen recipes, from a classic Americano to the sweet, retro Kanro Coffee, styled after the flavors of the Shōwa era. Each coffee has its own brew time, so you'll need to manage your customer queue with a bit of care.

A vending machine on the side — because not everyone wants coffee. Manage your stock, restock before it runs dry, and don't let someone down when all they wanted was a cold soda after work.

A radio playing in the background — because a real café needs its own soundscape. Turn it on, lower the volume to something pleasant, and let random tracks keep you company through the shift.

Period details — newspapers, posters on the walls, old equipment — all meant to pull you back to 2002, when the internet was still finding its footing and the best conversations happened over a café counter.

Note — version 0.1 (early access): This is the first public build of the game — the core mechanics are in place (orders, brewing, the vending machine, the radio), but the game is still in an early stage of development. You may run into small bugs, missing pieces, or rough edges. Any feedback is genuinely valuable — it'll help shape where the game goes from here.
